Manchester City are set to sign Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets in a deal worth up to €45 million (around £41m) according to reports.
The 28-year-old has been with the Catalan club since he was just 17 and is known for his versatility on the pitch, having played as both a central midfield player and a defensive midfielder during his time at the club.
Busquets has made over 600 appearances for Barca and won several titles including La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de España and UEFA Champions League.
He has also represented Spain at international level and was part of their squad that reached the final of the 2010 World Cup.
City have long been linked with the player but it seems they have finally managed to secure his signature after months of speculation.
The move could be a major boost for Pep Guardiola's side, who are currently fourth in the Premier League table and looking to challenge for the title this season.
Busquets' arrival will add depth and experience to the Manchester City midfield, which currently lacks a creative playmaker.
However, there is still uncertainty about whether the signing will happen or not as there have been reports of rival clubs such as Juventus and Bayern Munich showing interest in the player.
But regardless of the outcome, it is clear that City fans are excited about the prospect of having one of the best midfielders in world football in their ranks.
